👋🏽 I’m Diana, nice to
meet you!

As a Designer

🧙‍♀️ My superpower is effective collaboration, which allows me to deliver solutions that meet the needs of our users and the business. My peers see me as a facilitator of ideas and decision-making.

🪄 My job is to save you the frustration when a digital product you are using is not doing what you want it to do. I’ll make it easy.

💡 I focus more on people’s needs and behaviors, and the functionality of the product, and less on the visual appearance. Form follows function, and we can leverage Design Systems.

🌎 I think global, act local. I see the big picture and understand how everything comes together while paying attention to details.

🧠 I design for mental models. Beyond user’s needs and business goals, I understand that we expect things to work a certain way based on our past experiences.

👨‍🦽 I’m people-focused. I apply design thinking to solve real-world problems, for real people.

Becoming a UX Designer

I’ve navigated quite the career adventure from Industrial and Product Design to…well, let’s just say some unexpected places. Life had its plans, and as a single mom, I found myself exploring diverse industries and roles. Fast forward to a pivotal moment - the move to the vibrant shores of Seattle, WA.

Facing new beginnings as an ex-pat, time stopped for me, and a realization struck me like a ray of hope: why not return to my Design roots, but with a digital twist? UX design was just that sweet spot where my design foundation could dance with my tech-savvy side.

When you do what you love for a living, you never have to work again
— not my quote, but I can proudly say that’s how I feel about being a UX Designer.

Breaking into UX Design wasn’t exactly a walk in the park. The transition from my multidimensional journey and non-traditional background to landing that elusive 1st UX role had its share of doubters.

Learning has been my best friend throughout my life (thanks Mom and Dad!) so I dove headfirst into a certificate program in Web Design and User Experience Design while working in a call center as a Customer Service Rep. It was challenging, exciting, and, at times, downright perplexing.

I think global, act local. I see the big picture, and understand how everything comes together while paying attention to details.

Change is daunting. But here’s the twist: I thrive on challenges. I embrace the doubts, acknowledge them, and then prove them wrong with a sprinkle of creativity and a dash of determination.
